His interest in paediatric and adolescent orthopaedics is a core part of his practice. As Director of Sports Medicine at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in North Adelaide, he works regularly with young athletes whose injuries require an understanding of growth, development and age-specific surgical decision-making beyond the adult orthopaedic model.
Patients leave Dr Hermann’s consultations with a clear understanding of their condition, their options and what recovery involves. He takes the time to explain his assessment thoroughly, with expectations around outcomes and rehabilitation grounded in clinical reality.
Dr Hermann is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He consults at Flinders Private Hospital and Burnside War Memorial Hospital in Adelaide.
